The software suite developed by Hizkia is used with all of our video-counting solutions.
This software has been optimised to provide maximum reliability : no data loss at the acquisition stage, software is put into service immediately after installation, easy tuning. The filtration of bubbles and leaves is being tested, and will soon be available for operational use.
Video Acquisition : a specific computer program developped and maintained by HIZKIA

- - Works on a desktop PC workstation under Linux, for dependable continuous operation.
- - Output from up to 8 cameras can be processed on a single PC
- - Automatic detection of fish passages, sensitivity is adjustable independently for each part of the area to be viewed
- - Powerful algorithms mean that there is a very low rate of false positives (irrelevant sequences)
- - Automatic adaptation to water level fluctuations
- - Automatic adjustment to brightness variations: day/night, sun/cloud transition
- - Recording of ancillary data: temperature, flow rate…

- -Incident alerts (power cut, anomalies detected by cameras, full disc, watertightness faults, intrusion…) by email and Android smartphone app

This software is designed to optimize the operators’ work, compared with conventional systems, by reducing the time spent replaying movies. It is constantly changing and is the subject of research aiming to automate counting..
This is a specific computer program developped and maintained by HIZKIA

- - Works on any desktop or laptop PC, under Windows, Linux or Mac OS
- - Management via multiple screens for ease of use: e.g., a command screen, a screen dedicated to displaying videos, etc.
- - Well-adapted ergonomic features: forward/backward navigation functions, sequence hopping, slow/fast motion, freeze frame, zoom, keyboard shortcut keys including some for identifying and counting species
- - Up to 8 sequences can be read simultaneously – images can be reconstructed in case of multiple acquisition
- - Histogram of movements to identify times of activity during the day
- - Management of a fish passage database (species, direction, size…), with statistics, export into Excel
- - Size measurement
- - Extraction of images and video clips in all common formats
- Continual software development by the integration of user feedback
